Controlling LOUD Strata Committee Discussions

Being part of a strata committee is a thankless undertaking, and strata managers & building managers often find ourselves as mediators and it can get LOUD.

A good rule to maintain a quality discussion is to treat group interactions like a debate.

If everyone is provided a brief opportunity to voice their concerns, the tone of the committee members and general residents will usually become productive.

My second rule is to be prepared. The strata manager, the building manager and key representative should all be aligned with the same notes and information prior to the debate to show uniformity of facts and steps forward to achieve a result.

My last rule is never allow a strata meeting on State of Origin night, no good can come of it.
