It’s worth holding out for more advanced solar technology
As a motorhome enthusiast, I know that most insurers balk at insuring motorhomes with lithium batteries and solar systems. This is for the reason that the current technology is just too young and also because of the fact that lithium batteries catch fire regularly. There are many articles published about this matter. Meanwhile, in our strata industry, the insurers don’t seem to have the same concerns. So why is this?
Let me put this simply, the embedded solar networks are not battery storage systems. In fact, they generally are a microgrid with stored power which serves as a back-up battery only.
It’s Grays Rescue’s opinion that the owners corporations that are dragging the chain, and not racing out to sign up willclearly be the winners long term.
The race to progress the “stored energy” safety and capabilities are advancing at a lightning speed but are still a few years from perfection. We all want to go green and we applaud the strata schemes collaboration to make changes. I feel it’s worth holding out for more advanced solar technology that is obviously just around the corner offering game changing stored solar power for class two buildings.
