Robust contractor management is about keeping your residents safe

Contractor risk management in strata residential buildings is not about making sure the paperwork is up to date and the t’s are crossed and the i’s are dotted, it’s about keeping your residents safe, and for contractors to go home at the end of the day to their families safely. 

Inductions are usually met with an eye roll from contractors; however, it is all in the delivery. Working closely with remedial builders for high end remedial works, I have witnessed the best of induction process’s and pleasantly surprised how seriously the top remedial builders take their inductions and the management of this process.  

For GRBM to deliver contractor management of services and activities in a manner that aims to prevent risks to health and safety, it is imperative that pre-qualification processes are robust. The review of strategies for engagement and management of contractors must be undertaken regularly to continually evolve processes and expectations.  

GRBM encourage 3rd party risk auditing for residential strata buildings to highlight deficiencies and risks so we all go home safe at the end of the day.
